After long and much too entertaining months with political and up to a Supreme Court intervention the All India Football
Federation (AIFF) finally ends the controvercial discussions and internal and external fights for power by electing a new Board on September 02.
Newly elected president is Kalyan Chaubey (45y) from Gujarat, Vice-President is N A Haris from Karnataka and Ajay Kipa assumes the position as the Treasurer.
Though nowadays being a BJP leader in West Bengal, Chaubey is the first player in AIFF history to
become the national football body's president.
Though not being the tallest player he successfully played as a goalkeeper for both Mohun Bagan and East Bengal back in the 90ies.
Chaubey is
joined by 56y old Nalapad Ahmed Haris as the vice president in the AIFF board, who is Karnataka Assembly Member as well as president of the Karnataka State Football
Association (KSFA).
Ajay Kipa came out on top after the final election with the second candite Gopalakrishna Kosaraju, the president of the Andhra Pradesh Football Association.
